2. YOU ARE NOT EXERCISING REGULARLY AND YOU FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT.
If you are someone who tends to let taking care of yourself fall to the bottom of your to do list, then hiring a personal trainer is a perfect way to help you make time for your fitness. Regular appointments (pre-set) with a personal trainer are an excellent form of personal accountability.
I recommend anchoring your week with set training appointments and then design your life around these appointments as much as possible. That may sound a little draconian, but it works. When you are ready to step up to the plate and make exercise a priority, it helps organize the rest of your life. Plus, you are more productive and effective in the rest of your life.
3. YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO PLAN A WORKOUT AND KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PROGRESS.
Even if you know how to exercise and can put together a suitable workout for yourself, it is a great time saver to have someone else tend to the details and put a plan together for you. A personal trainer ensures you get a great workout. More importantly, a great trainer is thinking big picture and focuses on important details that you might not address.
They are making sure you progress with the right level of exercise intensity and variety. They watch your technique and give you pointers. And they know how and when to push you so you can get the most out of your fitness program. Tapping their knowledge saves you time and prevents you from wasting it.

It is very easy in our busy lives to get distracted, rationalize away discipline, and justify shortcuts. How many times do you say to yourself, “I will get back to it once I finish this big project or when I am not so busy.” And never get back to it?
An experienced personal trainer will hold your agenda and goals. And when you get off track (and you will), they will remind you of what you set out to accomplish and work with you to get back on track.
I call my personal trainers “truth sayers” – I may not like it when they point out that I am not doing what I said I wanted to do, but I know that I excel because they are helping me stay focused.

Many people find working out on their own boring and discover they get overwhelmed when they go to the gym. Others even go as far to say they “hate” to exercise. Time to call a trainer.
