Working with a personal trainer is an excellent way to find your confidence for exercise.  Whether you are concerned if your body can handle exercise or have a pre-existing condition that makes you hesitant, an experienced personal trainer will know how to fit your exercise program to your current situation. Knowing that you are going to start at a pace that is reasonable for you takes away a great deal of trepidation.  It also builds trust that your trainer has your best interests in mind!

Many clients join our personal training studio because of their concern of being “lost” in a fitness class. 

Without individual attention, they feel they won’t have someone monitoring their technique as closely as they would like.  And they are uncertain if the exercises chosen for the group are right for them individually.  Working with a trainer on an individual basis takes away this concern. 

One of the most important things a trainer does is to prevent injury, and they do that through selecting exercises that are appropriate for their client’s fitness level.  They are also ensuring that your technique is correct so you exercise in a way that is healthy for your body.

With a personal trainer, you have dedicated partner whose goal is to help you succeed over the long term.  Not only are they fitting your fitness program to your abilities, they are also making sure you are challenged in the right way.  They are building a foundation of success with positive challenges. 

No drill sargeant intimidation tactics. No preconceived notions of what you ought to be doing.  Just a mindful approach of what works best for you!  At least that is the way we do it here at Strand Fitness!

Be challenged in the right way

If you are someone who tends to over do it, a trainer will keep you in check.  If you are cautious and not one to push yourself, you will find a great partner in a trainer.  It tends to be easier to push yourself when you know the workout program has been chosen just for you and matches what you are capable of doing.  

This is one of the reasons I love working with my trainers.  I know that they design my program with my strengths in mind.  Their workouts are fun because I can do them.  Fun might not be the word everyone uses to describe a workout!  But when you are pushed at the right level, it removes the fear factor.  You are left with the ability to really focus on what you are doing and learn how to move your body correctly.   And that makes the work (and sweat) more gratifying and satisfying!
