Time to Hit the “Reset” Button

This past year has been crazy, hasn’t it? On so many levels!!! I am feeling it too! There is no talk about New Year’s resolutions or what they want to improve upon. This year, more than any year before — people want to get rid of their “baggage” and head into 2018 with a new perspective. It’s time to hit the “reset” button! There is a boldness in the air. More of a can-do attitude than I have heard before. It’s like everyone is saying, let’s stop muckin’ around and just do what we know we need to do. And live the way we know we want to live!

I love it!

Fitness Right Now

So what does this “reset” mean to you and your fitness?

For me, I am throwing out the old goals that I have been lugging around for several years and asking myself what is most important to accomplish – right now? What do I want my fitness to look like? And why is that so important to me? I am not taking much time to answer these questions or turn it into a lengthy goal setting exercise. Instead, I am listening to my intuition and following my gut.

I know I want to live a healthy and energized life. Because when I do, everything seems possible. And everything sparkles. Creating opportunity for myself and helping others do the same is my happy place! I have four things on my to do list for the New Year’s weekend that will help me move a little bit closer to the healthy and energized life I aspire to live.

One; I am cleaning out my food pantry. Everything that does not say “health and energy” is going in the trash. No questions asked!

Next, I am cleaning out my refrigerator and freezer, using the same criteria. Then I am attacking my bedroom closets — I am stripping my wardrobe down to the absolute essentials and getting rid of everything else. What is essential? I am only keeping those things I absolutely love to wear! Everything else goes! No wiggle room. If it doesn’t fit perfectly, look the way I like, or I don’t like how I feel in it – out it goes.

And my final task is to write down two fitness goals and then share that with my personal trainers. It’s time to get laser-like clear on what is most important to me – right now! I am not allowing myself to get distracted any longer. It’s time to be bold. It is time to hit the “reset” button. Out with the old. In with the new!

To your health and fitness!

How You Can Hit Reset

Ask yourself these three questions about your fitness journey:
  1. What is most important for me to accomplish right now? (one; no more than two things)
  2. Why is that so important to me?
  3. What 3-5  tasks can I strive to accomplish over the next three days that move me closer to what I aspire for myself?
Then share your results with your personal trainer and see how you can work together to accomplish what is most important to you.
