Feeling lost in fitness and not sure what to do?

I will keep it short and sweet – if you are feeling lost in your fitness and not sure what to do or how to “mix it up” when you go to the gym, then, hands down, the best investment you can make is to hire a personal trainer.

I am thrilled when I hear our clients at Strand Fitness tell me that hiring us was the best decision they have made in a long time.

Here’s why…

You will stop wasting time

I am sure many of our clients here at Strand Fitness are like you.  Their eyes glaze over and they get stressed out when they go to the gym on their own.  They don’t know what exercises to do to reach their goals.  And they get confused, or lost, on how to change up their routines so they can get lean, lose weight, and feel better.

Here’s how one of our clients described his typical visit to his fitness center.  He would walk in, look around, and be overwhelmed with the machines and the various weights.  So he would do a few bicep curls and shoulder presses, run on the treadmill for a few minutes, and then call it a day.  At least he got to the gym, he would tell himself.  But deep down, he knew his visits to the fitness center didn’t accomplish much.  He was wasting his time.

He hired us and calls it the best decision he has made in a long time.  Read what our clients have to say about their work with our personal trainers by clicking here.

You will get better results than on your own

In recent months, I wrote about how a personal trainer can help you get greater results.  Here is the link to that blog post.

Ensuring you get results over time requires the knowledge on how to organize a workout according to your goals, to plan for the intensity of effort from workout to workout, and to know how to progress and change up your plan so you can see results over time. If that sounds like something you want to do, go at it.  There are plenty of available resources online that can help you put together a fitness plan.

But if this sounds like the last thing you want to be responsible for, hiring a personal trainer can be a godsend.  With a personal trainer, you will ensure you are performing the right exercises for your goals and you body.  You will also reduce the risk of being injured.  And you will have an expert leading you on a path that will produce results.

Our personal trainers at Strand Fitness help you be at your best – that’s the way you are going to get the results you want and deserve.

You will be challenged in the right way – preventing injury and sustaining results

There are some souls who prefer exercise to be a solitary journey.  They excel at planning, executing, and challenging themselves.  And they thrive!

And then there are some souls who really don’t want to push themselves or they don’t push themselves in the right way.  Some may never get off the couch.  Others may not push hard enough to see or feel any physical changes.  And the rest may push too hard, get injured, and give up.

A personal trainer observes and takes note on what you perform well, where you need some extra coaching, and when you might need a little “tough love.”

I know I perform better in my workouts when I am with my personal trainer (Yep, I train with a trainer even though that is my profession).  I am challenged to go a little harder when it is the right time to do so.  And maybe more importantly, my trainers plan a recovery workout when it’s necessary to keep my body moving but give it a rest.  That rest and recovery is so important to progress.

You will be held accountable and increase your likelihood of success by 95%

When you hire a personal trainer, you now have an accountability “buddy.”  It’s one thing to say you have a goal to be strong and fit; it’s another thing to have a partner to make it happen.  In addition, you will have specific appointments (aka your training sessions) where you will review your results and progress.  These two things will increase your likelihood of success by 95%.

The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that simply having a goal increases your chances of completing that goal by 10%.  By having an accountability partner, your chances increase to 65%.  When you have specific appointments scheduled, your chances of completing your goal raises to 95%.

Pretty cool, eh?  Obviously you need to show up to your training sessions.  But think about it, you are 8 times more likely to achieve your goal with a trainer than you are on your own.

I like those odds!

With a personal trainer, getting fit will be easier and less stressful

I just got off the phone with a friend who just hired a personal trainer.  I could hear the joy in her voice (yes, joy) when she spoke about the process of working with her trainer. She said it was so easy.  She showed up with a list of her goals.  Her trainer mapped out a plan for her.  And then she said, “You just show up and do what they tell you to do.  It’s so easy. I am confident that I am going to achieve my goals!”
